May Session – Chaturanga Mechanics: Protecting the Shoulders

Slow down. Ask questions. Refine your practice.

In this month’s Yoga Practice Lab we explore Chaturanga and the mechanics that support strong, healthy shoulders.

Chaturanga (yoga push up, kinda!) is one of the most commonly practiced movements in yoga, yet it is also one of the most misunderstood. Many students experience strain in the shoulders, wrists, or lower back when the movement isn’t well supported.

In this session we slow everything down and look at the mechanics behind the pose so you can move with more strength, stability, and confidence.

Together we will explore:

• shoulder positioning and stability
• how the elbows track in the movement
• core support and body alignment
• ways to modify Chaturanga to suit your body

After breaking the movement down step by step, we’ll integrate it into a short guided sequence so you can feel how it works within a flow practice.

This session is not about perfecting a pose.
It is about understanding how to move in a way that supports your body.

Perfect for anyone who has ever felt unsure about Chaturanga or wants to practice it with more strength and ease.

All levels welcome.
