April Session – Stepping Forward (Down Dog → Lunge)

Slow down. Ask questions. Refine your practice.

In this month’s Yoga Practice Lab we will explore one of the most common transitions in yoga: stepping forward from Downward Dog into a lunge.

For many students this movement can feel awkward, heavy, or frustrating. In this session we slow everything down and look at the mechanics behind the movement so you can understand how your body works.

Together we will explore:

• weight shifting and balance
• core engagement and lightness
• foot placement and hand support
• simple ways to modify the transition

After breaking the movement down step by step, we will integrate it into a short, slow flow so you can experience it within a practice.

This session is not about advanced poses.
It is about understanding the how behind the movement.

Perfect for anyone who has ever wondered:

“Why does stepping forward feel so hard?”

All levels welcome.

Session Format

• Technique exploration and breakdown
• Guided practice to integrate the movement
